3 years ago the company I work for (like many others) started to perform health assessments on all employees. If I didnt meet certain health standards I could possibly be made to pay an additional $1,200 dollars per year on top of my standard health care coverage.
As much as I don’t like to admit it I’ve always been heavy. I liked to think of myself as being athletic & young enough to get by with my daily routine. When my results came back from my health screening I was very shocked. I weighed nearly 270 pounds. To top it off my blood pressure and cholesterol were well above normal borderline high risk. Add to the fact I was about to turn 30 was a real smack in the face.
For the next year and a half I joined multiple gyms & tried numerous different so called diets to no avail.
A relative of mine recommended joining CrossFit Worthy & I gave it a shot. I had no idea what was in store for me. Turned out to be one of best decisions I’ve ever made in life.
Since October 2014 I’ve lost over 60 pounds! My cholesterol and blood pressure is well within normal range. I’ve learned a ton about proper nutrition as well. Needless to say I passed my health assessment no problem.
I can’t say enough positive things about the owners (Jeremy & Susie) as well as the awesome coaches. The training they provide is top notch. Proper techniques & form is a high priority. I can be pretty dense at times & the continued help & reassurance makes me feel great. The coolest thing I’ve learned since joining CrossFit Worthy is the ability to dig down deep & find another level to drive myself through. You can either go through the motions or push yourself harder than you ever thought possible.
1 full year since joining I no longer struggle to perform physical tasks at work. I’m excelling at playing the sports I love. Most of all its given me the tools and drive to be a better husband & father to my family. My disposition on life is at an all time high thanks to CrossFit Worthy!!
And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (and body 😉)
